Barcelona Reportedly Eyeing German Duo for Squad Reinforcement

According to reports, FC Barcelona, under the management of Xavi, has expressed interest in acquiring the services of German national players Joshua Kimmich and Florian Wirtz. While Kimmich has previously expressed openness to a potential move, it remains to be seen if Bayern Munich would be willing to negotiate.

Barcelona apparently has its eye on the German duo

FC Barcelona is reportedly looking to strengthen its squad. According to Spanish newspaper “Mundo Deportivo,” coach Xavi is interested in two German national players, Joshua Kimmich and Florian Wirtz.

In recent news, Kimmich expressed his willingness to consider a move after his contract expires in 2025. Xavi, on the other hand, admitted to being a big fan of the Bayern Munich midfielder. “If there is an opportunity, there will be negotiations with Bayern,” said the 43-year-old. While the president of the German record champions, Herbert Hainer, has made it clear that he wants to keep Kimmich in Munich for as long as possible, it seems that the feeling may not be mutual.

It appears that Florian Wirtz of Bayer Leverkusen is also on the wish list of the Catalan club. It is no secret that the 20-year-old attacking player is a Barcelona fan, but whether or not he has an exit clause in his contract is not known. To lure the 12-time national player to Camp Nou before 2027, the Spanish champions would likely have to pay over 100 million euros – a significant amount for the financially struggling top club.

Additionally, Kaoru Mitoma (Brighton & Hove Albion), Arthur Vermeeren (Royal Antwerp), Nico Williams (Athletic Bilbao), Estevao Willian (Palmeiras), and Dani Olmo (RB Leipzig) are said to have also caught the attention of Barcelona. Exciting transfer windows await Barcelona.
